His wonderful voice! I was the Coast Guard District Commander's secretary in Miami for 15 years, 1993-2008. Throughout each year, my phone would ring and it would be Joe calling to invited the District Commander or our Enlisted Members to participate in some function or event. All I have to do was hear Joe's voice and it put a smile on my face. Who could have a bad day when Joe was around? His gentle, warm and caring voice could brighten the worst of days. Joe, the man, was just like his voice, gentle, warm and always sincere in his care and concern for others. Charlotte V. Jones
